ADIDAS JUDO UNIFORMS are made from 100% cotton. These uniform are not prewashed or preshrunk. Because of the color dye process, BLUE uniforms will shrink less than WHITE uniforms. All Adidas Judo Uniforms will shrink approximately 1 full size. It will take about 4 wash and dry cycles to stablize the shrinkage. The recommended cleaning procedure is to wash your Judo uniform in cold water and hang dry to avoid over shrinkage.
The Adidas Champion is one of the best Judo gi every made with the inside brushed for a softer wear against the skin. Once washed the outside stiffen up to make it harder for an opponent to grab over the shoulder, while the inside remains soft.
To soften up the Adidas Champion some what. I recommend soaking the gi in approximately 1 cup of liquid fabric softener with enough cold water (warm water if you need to shrink the gi) to fully submerge the gi over night. You may want to fill the washing machine with detergent and fabric softener before adding the Judo gi to avoid staining or spotting a white gi. I recommend using Tide Bleach Alternative liquid detergent with your choice of one cap full of liquid fabric softener every time you wash your gi.
